This motel is not at bad as the reviews make it out to be. Our room was clean and spacious. Not a bug in sight, water was hot and nice. We had a show down the street so it was very convenient for us. I feel like every motel you need to disinfect and wipe everything down but for the most part I have no complaints . I would definitely stay here again :)

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all super nice and accommodating. The room was very clean, the pool was awesome! They have even made a grill/fire-pit area for the guests. Got to socialize with some long term residents there very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Biker friendly. We will definitely stay here again! As someone who travels a lot in hotels a lot pricier I prefer this hotel to local ones that are $350+ per night. Just a few recommendations for the owner nothing serious; Pen and paper in the room, provide extra towels in the room when the pool is open, USB ports on lamp or clock would be great. Thank you for taking pride in your business it really shows. ( Shout out to the lady working last night Aug 13th and the Manager guy for being awesome!)

You basically get what you pay for, which isn't much. That was just fine for us, because we were just stopping for a night on a roadtrip. The kids thought the place was great. Overall, room was pretty clean, but not spotless. Coffee was provided in the room and a bar of new soap, but no shampoo/conditioner. Room was a good size. There was no free breakfast like the listing stated, just coffee in the front office. Pool was nice and clean. Great location. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

I have stayed at the Mountaineer Inn multiple times. It has always worked well for me, and I consider it a good value at $68, including tax and fees. I enjoy the slightly quirky feeling of this old motel. The rooms are always clean and they are adequately stocked with coffee machine, clean towels (small) and sheets, and soap. The heat has always worked. One quirky thing is that most of the rooms in which I've stayed have had the hot/cold reversed on either the sink or the shower or both. There is very ample hot water. The front desk staff are efficient and polite. I plan to stay there again on my periodic trips to Asheville.

There were many things to love about The Mountaineer so let's start there. The motel has a great woodsy vibe, reminded me of my home in Colorado. Every employee I met was super nice, and one of them came to my room to fix my television in like 90 seconds. It feels super safe as there are cameras everywhere, and in the lobby you can see the huge video screen displaying them all. Parking was close to the room and I never had a problem finding a spot. The room itself was HUGE, had two double beds and a perfectly fine bathroom and sink area. Water pressure was amazing, and the additions of a big mini fridge and microwave were a great touch. The bed was really comfy, and due to the fact that the room gets pitch black due to the double curtains you may find yourself accidentally sleeping until 10am like I did. Now to the negatives. Upon walking into my room I found about 50 little flying creatures circling around the sink. I got rid of them all but quickly realized they had apparently set up an abode in the pipes and would keep coming up for air if I didn't plug both the drain and the little hole on the back. So my entire 4 night stay I had to put toilet paper into the holes to keep them from coming up. Also, the room felt very wet the entire time. Nothing would dry, my towels, my clothes, my body, the floors. There was general wetness the whole time, I had to take my towels into my car to dry in the sun. Lastly, the wifi was awful, completely unusable. Very disappointing, I had to, very slowly, download shows in the morning to my phone to be able to watch them in the evening. Overall, I would stay again, just make sure you know what you're getting.

Super cozy inn with very kind staff. Parking lots are well-lit and right up against the rooms for easy packing/unpacking. Not always dead silent at night but nothing you can't sleep through. Breakfast is smaller than big-name franchise hotels but includes fresh fruit and hot coffee. It is first come first serve so make sure to get up early if you want to eat a full meal. The room was very clean with no stains, mold, bugs, or dust to be found. Tile work in the bathroom isn't perfect but nowhere near a deal breaker. The staff were super kind and helpful, no issue getting extra toiletries, towels, blankets, pillows, etc. Cleaning staff are respectful of Do Not Disturb signs. Overall, very affordable lodging with kind staff and clean rooms. Less than 15 minutes from downtown and everywhere else you'd want to visit. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good deal without sacrificing much quality!

This place was the perfect location for our Halloween getaway! It was close enough to walk downtown if you don't mind walking a little while, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and let us check in early. I would suggest bringing your own toiletries but otherwise I have no complaints. I will definitely stay here again next year!

Beautiful lodge, stunning views, great service, and comfortable rooms! This is an amazing place to stay. The lodge has plenty of comfy and spacious common spaces to hang out and relax. Outside there are tons of amenities - I really enjoyed the walking trail, fire pits, and lawn. The staff is so kind and provides excellent service going above and beyond to cater to everyones needs. Rooms are very clean, bedding is super comfortable, and the pillows are very good quality. I had the best stay and will be back!
